Anh Do does stand up comedy for a living. His comedy deals with real life problems. In hos comedy he tells the story of his Vietnamese heritage and how he came to Australia.
In recent years Anh Do has written children’s books. His books have a moral and many deal with the topic of bullying. He also took up painting about 4 years ago and he has one lots of prizes for his work.
He was a runner up in the peoples choice award in the Archibald this year. He painted his father for the competition. Anh Do says that his father tough him to “ .. fear nothing and I’ve always thought he was invincible.” Anh Do knew the difficulties that his father had gone though some of which included being stared down be communist soldiers, facing starvation at sea and pirates.
His painting style focuses on thick lines of oil paint on canvass. He does a lot of portraits of his friends and family. In recent years his cut back on comedy to focus on painting full time again.
